An Italian Escape

To go to Italy you can either go through the Mont-Blanc tunnel or go via Switzerland and the Petit St Bernard's pass, a longer but very scenic route which leads to the Aosta valley and Courmayeur.
Access to the skiing area in Courmayeur is free for all holders of a Mont-Blanc Unlimited lift pass (in Winter only).
The Val Ferret offers a different landscape and many possibilities of enjoyment for cross country skiers and hikers alike. A cross country skiing area extending over 24 kilometers as well as hiking and snowshoeing itineraries will lead you to the Lavachey refuge where a delicious bowl of polenta or minestrone soup will help you recover!
By day or by night, the heavenly thermal baths in Pré St Didier (a little Italian village just past the border) are ideal to relax in hot water, saunas and steam baths after a day out skiing or hiking. If you get hungry, a buffet full of healthy snacks is at your disposal (cereal, fruits, yogurt, etc).
